About me
Lincoln Péricles (aka LK) is a filmmaker, archivist and cultural organiser from Capão Redondo, a favela in São Paulo, Brazil, and the founder of Cinemateca da Quebrada, a community-based audiovisual archive dedicated to preserving and activating cinema produced in the peripheries.Developed as a response to the historical absence of working-class images in official archives, Cinemateca da Quebrada operates through collection, digitisation and circulation of films created and shared in informal networks, such as pirate DVD stands, grassroots productions and local cineclubs. The project positions the archive as a living, collective space, where memory is continuously reactivated through public screenings, debates and international exchanges.Through partnerships with initiatives such as the Cinemathèque Idéale des Banlieues du Monde, conceived by Alice Diop and presented at institutions like Centre Pompidou, the project builds transnational dialogues between peripheral territories in Brazil, France and beyond.Alongside this work, Lincoln develops films, video art and photographic projects that have been presented at festivals including Cannes, Doclisboa, FICValdivia, NewFilmmakers Los Angeles and FID Marseille, as well as exhibitions such as Rencontres d’Arles and Jimei. His work has been highlighted by Cahiers du Cinéma, and he was awarded the William Greaves Fund in 2025. In 2026, he was selected for the Cité Internationale des Arts residency in Paris.
