About me
Giovanni Marra is a lawyer, specialised in corporate law, media and intellectual property law, with a focus on artificial intelligence law. He holds teaching appointments in Media Law and Intellectual Property at the University of Udine and at Roma Tre – Tor Vergata University and he has delivered seminars at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, and archives. In the audiovisual industry, he advises production companies on rights clearance, licensing, legal compliance and governance challenges arising from the adoption of AI technologies across the content lifecycle. He has curated the Italian translation of the guidelines on the use of generative AI in documentary filmmaking produced by the Archival Producers Alliance. He is co-founder of Index Archive Studio (Italy), a practice combining archive production expertise and media law, working internationally
