About me
René Duursma is Curator of Audiovisual Materials at the Groningen Archives since 2005. Leading a small team of six people and a group of volunteers, he is dedicated to the ongoing digitization and metadata management of the collection. Duursma is constantly involved in projects aimed at the general public, often in collaboration with partner organisations. He is a member of the Dutch AV Archive Domain Council (AVA_NET) and serves as the Chairman of NORAA (regional filmarchives in the Netherlands). In addition to his work at the archive, Duursma is a musician (Kinetophone) and moderator of film events.
