Luís Alberto Rocha Melo is a researcher, filmmaker, and professor at the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, where he teaches in the Cinema and Audiovisual course and coordinates the CNPq Audiovisual Historiography Research Group (
www.historiografiaaudiovisual.com.br). Among other films, he directed "O Cangaceiro da Moviola" (2022), "Um homem e seu pecado" (2016), "Nenhuma fórmula para a contemporânea visão do mundo" (2014), "Que cavação é essa?" (2008), and "O Galante rei da Boca" (2004). He co-edited, with Luciana Corrêa de Araújo and Rafael de Luna Freire, the book "Cinema sob medida: diversidade de formatos, circuitos e consumo no Brasil" (Ilustre, 2024). He is the author of the book "Alinor Azevedo e o cinema carioca" (Ed. UFMG, 2022).
