A FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP), Brazil, his research focuses on Khmer Rouge propaganda films, with particular attention to the analysis of mise-en-scène, and includes a research stay at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP). In 2023, he worked as a Senior Researcher at the Cinemateca Brasileira in the Projeto Nitratos, where he conducted research and catalogued the film Visita dos nadadores japoneses ao Brasil (1950). He holds a PhD from UFMG, with a dissertation on filmmaker Rithy Panh. Drawing on field research in audiovisual archives in Brazil, France, and Cambodia, his work includes institutions such as the INA and Bophana Center. It addresses authoritarian regimes and their audiovisual records, combining film analysis with the critical interpretation and reuse of archival images. He directed the short documentaries Mass 法事 (2013), Under the Shade of a Palm Tree (2020), and Poems of Cambodia (2020).
